Privacy Policy

Last updated: December 2023

We're pretty straightforward about how we handle your info. No fancy corporate jargon here.

Look, we get it

Privacy policies can be a slog to read through. We've tried to keep ours honest and actually readable. Bottom line? We're not in the business of selling your data or doing anything sketchy with your information. We're architects - we design buildings, not data-mining operations.

What info we actually collect

When you reach out to us or work with us on a project, we'll naturally collect some basic stuff:

  • Your name, email, phone number - the usual contact details
  • Property information if you're consulting with us about a project
  • Project preferences, budget ranges, timelines - whatever helps us design what you need
  • Communication records (emails, meeting notes, that sort of thing)
  • Technical stuff like IP addresses and browser types when you visit our site

How we use your information

We're pretty boring here, honestly. Your info helps us do our job better:

Project work - designing your space, coordinating with contractors, keeping you updated on progress

Communication - responding to your questions, sending project updates, occasional newsletters if you've signed up

Legal stuff - contracts, permits, building codes compliance

Improving our services - understanding what works and what doesn't

Who we share it with (spoiler: not many people)

We don't sell your data. Period. That's not our business model. However, we do share information when it's necessary:

  • Contractors and consultants - structural engineers, contractors, specialists we bring onto your project
  • Municipal offices - when we're filing permits and dealing with city regulations
  • Service providers - our cloud storage, email systems, project management tools
  • Legal requirements - if we're legally obligated to share something (court orders, etc.)

Everyone we work with signs confidentiality agreements. We're pretty protective of our clients' privacy.

Cookies and website tracking

Our website uses cookies - yeah, those little data files. We use them to remember your preferences and see how people use our site. Nothing invasive. You can disable cookies in your browser if they bother you, though some features might not work as smoothly. We use Google Analytics to understand traffic patterns, but we've configured it to respect privacy as much as possible.

Your rights (you've got plenty)

Under Canadian privacy laws, you've got rights. Here's what you can do:

Access: Ask us what information we have about you

Correction: Tell us if something's wrong and we'll fix it

Deletion: Request we delete your info (with some legal exceptions)

Opt-out: Unsubscribe from our newsletters anytime

Portability: Get a copy of your data in a usable format

Just shoot us an email at info@mythralenquintho.info and we'll help you out.

How we protect your data

We take reasonable precautions to keep your info secure. Encrypted connections, secure servers, regular backups, access controls - the usual security measures. We're not a bank, so we don't have vault-level security, but we're definitely not leaving your data lying around either. Our team's trained on privacy practices, and we limit access to personal information on a need-to-know basis.

How long we keep stuff

We keep project files and related information for 7 years after project completion - that's partly legal requirement, partly practical (in case you want to do additions or renovations down the road). Marketing communications? We'll keep those until you tell us to stop. General inquiries that don't turn into projects get deleted after a couple years.

Third-party links

Our website might link to other sites - manufacturer websites, inspiration galleries, that kind of thing. Once you click through, you're on their turf and their privacy policies apply. We can't control what they do, so check their policies if you're concerned.

Changes to this policy

Laws change, our practices evolve. If we make significant changes to this policy, we'll update the date at the top and let our clients know via email. For minor tweaks, we'll just update it here. Worth checking back occasionally if you're the cautious type.

Questions or concerns?

Honestly, if something in here doesn't make sense or you've got privacy concerns, just reach out. We'd rather have a conversation than have you worry about your information.
